Can anyone remember who was in government 11 years ago when this cohort of kids was born? Anyone? Lucy at the back?https://twitter.com/lucympowell/status/704686133997924352 …

.@JuliaHB1 maybe you've also forgotten the Tories first act of government was cancelling Labour's "Building Schools for Future" programme?

@LucyMPowell not at all. Unlike you, I blame both Labour, the Coalition & the Tories for failing to build enough new schools.

@JuliaHB1 we could have prob done more, but Tories withdrew nearly all capital monies & have left place planning to free market. Failure.

@LucyMPowell @JuliaHB1 We've spent £5bn since 2010 creating half a million places. Labour cut 200,000 places between 2004-10 during babyboom

@NickGibbMP @JuliaHB1 many of places you have created are not where they are needed. The capital funds are too little too late.

@JuliaHB1 That would be Labour, with their Building Schools for the Future program (2005-9), scrapped by the coalition in 2010.

@GazHumphries Might have been, probably mixed funding. But, they were planning and building for future demographic changes.
