Why would any teacher or school want to find out what a child knows or doesn't know when they arrive at school? What madness is this? #sigh

@JuliaHB1 I worked in reception three years ago and the Children were constantly observed and assessed. It's perfectly possible to assess. -
@Missymazda the bad schools deliberately don't assess at the start so no record of how children are achieving over time. -
