@kohenoor I have been to Egypt many times. I kept going even after threat level raised. Tourism not more important than my family's lives.

@JuliaHB1 Because destroying tourist industry economy is exactly what ISIS wants, to radicalise impoverished population? -
@DavidVick5 yes, of course, but the reality is that it is too big a risk to take for a cheap holiday in the sun. -
@JuliaHB1 Most terrorist deaths have been in western cities. Is it too big a risk to visit Paris, Madrid, London, New York ... ? -
@DavidVick5 targeting of tourists is the key factor. We have to go about our ordinary lives in our home cities. -
@JuliaHB1 But what about visiting cities elsewhere in Europe, as tourists? Guess that's out too now? http://news.sky.com/story/1621185/ten-dead-as-blast-hits-historic-istanbul …

@JuliaHB1 If you read the story there were only 3 hurt & the attackers were killed - Would you say the same about Paris as well#justasking -
@merimaat no. We have to go about our daily lives but when terrorists targeting tourists in a tourist resort, that's too big a risk. -
@JuliaHB1 There are tourist in Paris which is a tourist destination for many Julia - sadly nowhere is safe from terrorism -
@merimaat but the terrorists in Paris didn't target tourists. In Egypt they have. Big difference. And level if security much worse in Egypt. -
@JuliaHB1 I have always felt safe in Egypt, Daesh know they get publicity by attacking tourist there. Daesh really don't care who they kill

@JuliaHB1 Terrible news from Paris, but why would any sane person go on holiday anywhere in France after what happened in Paris? Madness. -
@JuliaHB1 You could apply this by just replacing city names and country name to just about anywhere, UK, Belgium, Germany, USA, France, etc. -
@LeftyScuba no, you couldn't. The risks in Egypt are far higher as less security & a clear demonstrated threat targeted at western tourists -
@JuliaHB1 I've heard more of terrorism stalking Parisian streets recently. Egypt is safer than you think :) Agree about the threat though. -
@LeftyScuba I've been going to Egypt regularly since 1998. I went last Xmas. But now tourists are the target, it is not safe. Full stop. -
@JuliaHB1 Tourists are always number one target in any country with reliance on tourism. Eg that bomb in Thailand. Egypt is trying it's best -
@JuliaHB1 I think Egypt had better control of its problems than much more equipped, richer countries like France, which rely less on tourism
