@IanDunt the solution is not to make sex work safer. The solution is to prevent women (and men) becoming sex workers in the first place.
@ExpressNathan what? no! Being gay isn't a bad thing or bad for you. Drugs are. The drug laws exist for a good reason.

@JuliaHB1 But it was considered the most heinous crime in the book. Many people argue now that their use of cannabis is a victimless 'crime' -
@ExpressNathan not victimless as many in drug chain are being used. Dealers also target children. -
@JuliaHB1 Exactly my point. Legalise it, regulate it, pull the rug from under the dealers and then crack down on heroin, meth, crack etc. -
@ExpressNathan get them. Legalisation doesn't deal with any of the real problems and won't work. -
@JuliaHB1 But it is doing so across the world now. I don't want our limited police officers wasting time nabbing people for pot. -
@JuliaHB1 Don't get me wrong. I hate all drugs (inc alcohol) but that does not give me the right to make a moral judgement on those who do. -
@ExpressNathan last tweet: no, but it gives society as a whole the right, through our elected reps, to make laws about what we think is bad - 2 more replies

@JuliaHB1 The war on cannabis (not drugs) has done nothing but criminalise law-abiding people while funding criminal gangs. -
@ExpressNathan but they're not law abiding, are they? They chose to knowingly break the law, which is there for a good reason. -
@JuliaHB1 And that was exactly the response given by the state in the 50s. Gays were going to "ruin society", "prey on young people" etc. -
@ExpressNathan it was a different time. Really not sure that laws about drugs have any parallel with laws about gay people -
@JuliaHB1 Identical parallel. The LGBT community fought not to be criminalised in the way that cannabis users are doing now. -
@ExpressNathan the right to express your true self as a human being is not quite the same thing as the right to get stoned. -
@JuliaHB1 Then ban alcohol, and sugar, tobacco. -
@ExpressNathan ok, one FINAL tweet! We are already stuck with all of them, part of our culture. Doesn't make it wise to add drugs as well. - 3 more replies

@JuliaHB1 We really need to look again at this, and decide whether criminalising a people for their choice is a good thing. -
@ExpressNathan I believe the state/society has a duty to deter people from bad choices. Drugs is one of them. -
@JuliaHB1 I agree. But we need to take cannabis out of the drug equation as it is nothing but a ball and chain weighing down resources. -
@ExpressNathan you clearly think cannabis is harmless. It's not. Plenty of medical evidence that it is very harmful indeed.
