@JuliaHB1 Something to be said for it. Better people get rich before political office than through it. Monbiot also hinting at himself tho. -
@guy_herbert of course he is!

@JuliaHB1 Really surprised at that remark from you Julia. His background isn't his fault . I'm judging HIM... not his dad. -
@sandieshoes no, not judging him, simply pointing out that it's easier to not worry about looking after yourself when you're born so wealthy -
@JuliaHB1 OK, got that. But if you listen to him speak he is spot on, he has an understanding of life & empathy. Rich kids get bad press.

@JuliaHB1@GeorgeMonbiot@ZacGoldsmith So it's his fault that he has a successful family? -
@thegardensgnome did I suggest that? -
@JuliaHB1 Yes you did. You were clearly having a cheap dig at his ancestory.

@JuliaHB1 it's a point he actually made himself a while ago - with only some success - that he's just too rich to be bought or corrupted. -
@FdeFossard that was one of the arguments used against allowing commoners to be legislators. Rich people are as corruptible as the poor.
-
@JuliaHB1 very true, but it's unfortunately gained currency following expenses etc, however unfounded and elitist a belief it really is.

@JuliaHB1 It's not Zach Goldsmith's fault his late father worked hard and left money to his son. -
@TottenhamFC93 did I suggest it was? -
@JuliaHB1 It wasn't only me that sensed a deeper meaning to your tweet. Note I agree with alot of what you say apart from on this occasion

@JuliaHB1@GeorgeMonbiot@ZacGoldsmith lovely tweet - you're telling him off but agreeing with him at the same time -
@JuliaHB1 yes. Basic premise of self-interest you seem to agree with
