Can I just check, is everyone now legally and morally REQUIRED to offer to take Syrian refugees into their homes or be labelled heartless?

@JuliaHB1 I didn't say that. I said not wanting BRITAIN to take refugees (which your other tweets imply) is pretty heartless, yes. -
@JuliaHB1 Certainly wouldn't expect you to take any into your own home. Lovely gesture from those who can/do but not faesible for most. -
@StrictlySid sorry I misunderstood. not saying we shouldn't take any refugees, just that 1k 10k or even 100k doesn't resolve problem for all -
@JuliaHB1 No probs. It's still 1k or 10k or 100k fewer people in a desperate situation. Of course we need to address the root cause as well. -
@StrictlySid yes, and worthwhile for that alone. But actually taking refugees encourages more to make dangerous crossing & costs more lives -
