@JuliaHB1 No, they need to be longer, not to mention actual reports of rape and conviction rates are depressingly low. -
@PeteyMonster conviction rates are low because not enough evidence of a crime having taken place. Often because the victim is blind drunk. -

@JuliaHB1 Or because the victim is ashamed; because the rapist was someone close to them; or because they don't think they'll be believed. -
@PeteyMonster yes, juries find it hard to believe victims when there is no evidence of a crime except her claim. Why would anyone convict?
