@jessicaelgot either way, requiring those parents to support their own children is more likely to help them out of poverty than benefits

@JuliaHB1 but once they've made that choice, do we say 'sorry kids, tough luck, your poverty isn't our problem'? -
@jessicaelgot no, we do everything we can to help/cajole/force the patents into supporting their children as best they can.
