@sirwilcox yes, but I pay taxes to be entitled to that. And only in EU. I have travel insurance for anywhere else.

@SuperCyberDaddy@JuliaHB1 I wouldn't like to see anyone suffer but see many people stuck on waiting lists for far longer than they should

@JuliaHB1@CataNigra You do get 'free' healthcare in EU. UK covers your costs, but many in the NHS refuse to reclaim the costs of visitors. -
@Alichat66@JuliaHB1@CataNigra NHS care isn't free, it's paid for by people who pay taxes! -
@RichardWS@JuliaHB1@CataNigra I knows that! But you're cover by an EHIC card all across Europe. Problem is the NHS doesn't recoup costs -
@Alichat66@RichardWS@JuliaHB1@CataNigra Brits pay up front in EU and reclaim later through health card. NHS should charge first too -
@NorthamptonEye@RichardWS@JuliaHB1@CataNigra That varies from country to country. Some are set up to automatically charge the UK directly -
@Alichat66@RichardWS@JuliaHB1@CataNigra Didn't know that, thanks. I've always had to pay first in France & Spain -
@NorthamptonEye@Alichat66@JuliaHB1@CataNigra EHIC will enable you to access state-provided healthcare in EU, inc Switzerland...... 1/2 -
@NorthamptonEye@Alichat66@JuliaHB1@CataNigra .... at a reduced cost, or sometimes for free. 2/2 http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcareabroad/EHIC/Pages/about-the-ehic.aspx …
