So a sofa that was perfectly good enough for MY home is not good enough for someone who is in such dire straits they need charity? #SofaSaga

@PaulKingsley16 we waited until a dry day to carry them out, left notes on them & planned to return them indoors if not taken in a day. Ok?

@JuliaHB1 We had one refused because the fire regs label had come off one of the cushions. Was on the others, but no dice. Went to landfill.

@JuliaHB1 @simonblackwell Well, it's absurd, but it's the LAW. Charity cannot sell something which doesn't meet regs. Not their fault!

@JuliaHB1 @simonblackwell Even a rip in the fabric could render something less fire retardant and prevent charity from selling it.

@JuliaHB1 @simonblackwell You can give things away like that, but you cannot sell them or you're liable.

@JuliaHB1 sofa: identical experience with a beautiful old bed. Charities said a big "No". Advertised it. Bought by Chinese family same day.
