Dear stay-at-home mums, the reason you won't get the £1,200 childcare tax break is because you don't pay for childcare. Very simple, really.

@JuliaHB1 Not to mention ignoring that there are costs to their incomes and careers. -
@Clarice007 there are costs to any parent's careers and wages from having kids, including dads who want to be properly involved day to day. -
@JuliaHB1 Women (mostly) doing stuff for free is what keeps this country afloat. Sad world when other women (like you) don't realise this. -
@Clarice007 stop playing the martyr. Women (and men) look after their kids because they WANT to. Get over it. -

@Fedupwithclowns I don't think anyone will get any sense out of@JuliaHB1 on this one. She's wrong, but can't admit it.#sad -

@Fedupwithclowns@Clarice007 what have I not backed up? Hey, if you can find someone to pay you a wage to look after your own kids, great!

@JuliaHB1 Exactly. So you are saying their labour is free. -
@Clarice007 yes, their labour is free. It's their choice. Or do you think other taxpayers (many of them working mums) should pay them wages? -
@JuliaHB1 I don't think other tax-payers should casually deny the value to the economy of what stay-at-home mums (or dads) do.
