.@AnitaBellows12 Precisely. When on a low wage, I knew what e'thing cost. So why expect a man on £150k who doesn't do weekly shop to know?

@JuliaHB1 because he is a politician/representative, and bread has a symbolic value.

@AnitaBellows12 I agree politicians need to know cost of living, but 1 item is silly. He should know cost of av weekly shop for family of 4.

@JuliaHB1 @AnitaBellows12 The Victorian equivalent of David Cameron would not know the servants wages. Little wifey took care of that

@JuliaHB1 @AnitaBellows12 I don't usually buy single pints of milk, but I would expect to pay around 55P for one.

@JuliaHB1 @AnitaBellows12 When I buy bread, I first try to get a loaf marked down, because it's near the sell by date.

@JuliaHB1 @AnitaBellows12 If I can't get one marked down, I would expect to pay about 70P for a Hovis small loaf. Next?

@JuliaHB1 @AnitaBellows12 it's just a way of pushing the "out of touch" message. I'd rather they were in touch on big issues not shop prices
