16yr old child says “Listen to me! Do what I tell you!” Adult says “Nah, what you’re saying is nonsense.” Other adults say “She’s just a child. How dare you mock/criticise a child” Either St Greta is a political campaigner to be debated or she is a child to be ignored. Pick one.https://twitter.com/juliahb1/status/1161707706790621184 …

You can disagree without making snide remarks about her, and she’s repeating what climate scientists have been saying

Julia, it is well known that humans are contributing to accelerated global warming due to our consumption of fossil fuels. She has spoken about how we need to accelerate our efforts to mitigate our contribution.

She says travelling by plane is going to kill the human race and the world as we know it and we should feel bad about flying. It’s nonsense. I don’t feel guilty about flying and neither should anyone else. It doesn’t matter how old she is. Her claims deserve to be mocked.

Believe it or not. I think we’re actually doing our best in the UK. And the thing people really don’t like about these campaigns is not the notion of trying to sort out the planet, but the authoritarianism of it all. All seems to fall at the feet of the poorest, too. As always.

Rubbish. We're already being made poorer by austerity and Brexit. Will be far poorer if we keep, for example, losing topsoil to intensive farming methids and heavier rainfall due to climate change.

Brexit is the process of leaving the EU - we haven't left yet. Austerity was caused by greedy bankers whose motto is "Private profit. Public debt" They keep profits when things are hunky dory but when they run into trouble we, the tax payers, bail them out. Banks love the EU.
