You can disagree without making snide remarks about her, and she’s repeating what climate scientists have been saying

What snide remarks?
-
She's not saying anything that's nonsense. She's speaking about peer-reviewed evidence backed predictions and observations regarding our contribution to climate change and what we need to do to mitigate our effect.
-
No she isn’t
-
Julia, it is well known that humans are contributing to accelerated global warming due to our consumption of fossil fuels. She has spoken about how we need to accelerate our efforts to mitigate our contribution.
-
Julia: “Nuh uh!”

But you’re not debating. You’re being childish by saying that you feel no guilt...
-
She says travelling by plane is going to kill the human race and the world as we know it and we should feel bad about flying. It’s nonsense. I don’t feel guilty about flying and neither should anyone else. It doesn’t matter how old she is. Her claims deserve to be mocked.

By the time air travel does help contribute to the destruction of peoples homes, you'll be long gone but your grandchildren can reread your tweets and discover about how little you cared for their future and how selfish their grandmother was.

I doubt she even knows who you are Julia, suspect that’s what really grates, the fact a 16 year old gets more attention than you...
-
Why on earth should she know who I am? And why would anyone care? *shrugs*
-
Well indeed. But unfortunately we do know about you.
-
I love that JHB actually replies to a few of these comments. She reads them all, and finds a few she can think of a reply to. Bless her cotton socks.

100 yrs from now kids will learn about Greta, the great campaigner, in school. You on the other hand will be long forgotten blow hard.
-
How does that even make sense? If we’re here in 100 years she would’ve been utterly wrong, wouldn’t have she?
-
Not if we change our ways, no!
-
Believe it or not. I think we’re actually doing our best in the UK. And the thing people really don’t like about these campaigns is not the notion of trying to sort out the planet, but the authoritarianism of it all. All seems to fall at the feet of the poorest, too. As always.
-
The plan is to make us poorer and climate change is just one of the excuses their using.
-
Rubbish. We're already being made poorer by austerity and Brexit. Will be far poorer if we keep, for example, losing topsoil to intensive farming methids and heavier rainfall due to climate change.
-
Brexit is the process of leaving the EU - we haven't left yet. Austerity was caused by greedy bankers whose motto is "Private profit. Public debt" They keep profits when things are hunky dory but when they run into trouble we, the tax payers, bail them out. Banks love the EU.
