Nope Julia, only to the truth. Ask anyone involved in no deal “preparations” and they will tell you the same. For example, the head of the UK’s counter terrorism force warning last week our security would be imperilled by no deal and no preparation could change that.

Assume you don’t think you know more about our security than our top security policeman?
-
Of course not. Are you saying you know more than the former head of MI6 Sir Richard Dearlove, because he doesn’t agree with your analysis. But what the hell would he know, huh?
-
John Scarlett, also former head of MI6, totally disagreed with Dearlove about Brexit and thought it was very damaging to the UK's security, as he wrote about.

Yes, so maybe these things are less a matter of indisputable fact and more a matter of disputable opinion - which should not therefore be presented as fact.

The piece made some reasonable points. But nowhere did it reflect on the dire probable economic consequences that would spring from shattering social stability by not leaving on Oct 31. Just assumed status quo ante. So, yes, built on biased assumptions.

Imagine the shattering of social stability if, as is entirely possible, people die due to a lack of suitable medicines or the rapid rise in inflation that will see more people forced into poverty or the disquiet caused by job losses all because you lied to the electorate.

Just have to look at the govts. impact statements, Royal Colleges concerns, Royal Society, NHS trusts (if they haven't been gagged) CBI, NFU - the list goes on. At the very, very least there is cause for concern. Those concerns aren't allayed by denying their clear validity.

just talk to ANYONE in any small business trading outside the UK, importing or exporting. They are ALL struggling. They have NO information how to even prepare for a No Deal, nor what paperwork they would need to trade and their costs have exploded. Desparation all around.
