Nigel Farage doesn’t actually say anything nasty about Meghan. He simply points out the fact that since Prince Harry has married her, he has changed and is less popular. Lammy thinks this justifies him calling Farage a “toad”.https://twitter.com/davidlammy/status/1160819590819135488 …

Farage didn’t criticise her. I’ve got no time for any royals as a firm republican. Bugger all to do with her skin.

the way he talks about her is a bit like football pundits saying a certain manager is "under a lot of pressure". implying it isn't you criticising, just a vague nebulous media. it's a tactic farage uses a lot. and *of course* meghan would be treated better by r/w media if white

and he did criticise her by implication: he said harry was a popular laddish war hero type and now he's married meghan and oh dear oh dear he's not popular now etc etc. its all quite obvious dog whistle racism

He criticised Charles as well ...was that racially motivated or are you being selective & looking for offence that doesn’t exist? Teg

racism today is only very rarely expressed explicitly, partly because for most ppl it is unacceptable and partly because of hate speech laws. so one has to read the implications of what farage, hopkins, robinson et al say/write rather than take it at face value. these ppl r liars

So you are guessing / implying racism? He also criticised Charles including his climate change comments. How does that fit with the racist narrative ? How do you work out when it’s just criticism & not racism?

The reasoning here is losing coherence. It's got nothing to do with her skin that Farage didn't criticise her? Or the last point is related to the irrelevant fact that you're a firm republican?
