If you think the Green Party are “centrist” then your understanding of British politics is even worse than many of us had already feared @MissEllieMae. Genuinely astounding. And, frankly, not a little terrifying.https://twitter.com/MissEllieMae/status/1160866049283301376 …

Brexit has made the Green Party into the acceptable face of centrism. Whether you think that's good or bad depends on your vantage point and what will replace centrism in the end.

Spot on. Please, please get folks to read the Green Party manifesto - truly scary stuff. They are not fluffy bunnies gamboling through sunlit fields.

Sloganeering. Examples of “terrifying” policies please? Are they more terrifying than spending £6bn on preparing for something that doesn’t need to happen? Of accepting that people people may die because of that policy - which government documents outline?

So is there no cost beyond which you think it would be a bad idea? £10bn? £100bn? £200bn? Our local school is struggling for special needs education funding and we’re spending £6bn on emergency flights for medical supplies amongst other things. It is insane.

So your local school is struggling while we're in the EU but it's Brexit's fault? 🤣🤣🤣

No, that’s not what I said. There is a fixed amount of government spending. I would rather they spent it on the NHS, education, special needs, etc than bailing out companies going bust, stockpiling food or hiring 500 new customs officials. What would you do?

Halving the foreign aid budget would give money for some of these..

What’s the most terrifying policy? Increased controls on EU corporate lobbying? A level tax playing field for all modes of transport? Clamping down on corporate tax avoidance? Delivering fair asylum shares across EU? Stopping arms exports to dictators? Any of these terrifying?
