I think you've misunderstood she's saying 2wks to see a Gp&I agree, not a specialist or to get a referral then await of which we know can take between up to a few months depending on indivuial cases

Have said average wait for any gp in my area is 9 days....lady local to me, called surgery for appt after discovering a lump in her breast, her appt was 8 days, she explained to receptionist the problem and was given an urgent appt, 5 days (yes it was cancer)
-
Well that's good it can be up to 2wks at my surgery though that's usually for a particular Doc, I know of similar cases myself 're women&men finding lumps¬ being referred urgently, but tbh again isn't a new occurrence but definetly more cases

-
One senior gp partner will do a home visit for urgent cases @ £90 if you request it early morning
-
Never heard that before do you mean in your area?

FACT: No other country in the world operates a healthcare system where it dominates both FUNDING and PROVISION of healthcare. These "crises" do not face consumers in NL, BE, FR, DE. They've figured out a better system. The
#NHS needs restructuring, now! Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

And practices having many patients who don't speak English has an effect on appointment times and accuracy of diagnosis. We must be able to communicate in a civilised society.

They don't understand statistics - or rather they misuse them for political gain.

I live in Gateshead and the last appointment I made at the doctors was nearly one months wait. 3-4 weeks is about the usual wait.
-
Arrrgh good ole Gateshead socialist shithole like most of the north east, I wonder why nothing improves in places where they vote Labour? I wonder!

if I ring my gp surgery, I get put through a triage system, and they will decide if I need to see someone that day or if it can wait. People are too used to being able to call and ask to see whichever Dr they wanted to.
-
I normally just ask to see a Doctor tbh. They normally choose for me.
