Hmmm. This claim is from a survey by Pulse, the magazine for doctors. Having had my own dealings with Pulse, I know they’re not too bothered about presenting ALL the facts, so there are some questions to raise about this claim... 2/

The Pulse survey appears to have been self-selecting so it is always the doctors who are experiencing the biggest problems with waiting times who are the most likely to respond to a survey on the issue, which skews the results, while... 3/

The survey is only for ROUTINE appointments, not emergency appointments - which make up half of all GP appointments. So, if you’re very unwell, you can see your GP today, but if it’s a non-urgent issue, it will wait a couple of weeks. Which makes sense, surely? 4/

But the Guardian headline, based on the Pulse headline “Average GP waiting times exceed two weeks for first time ever”, is clearly misleading as HALF of all appointments (ie. those who need to see a doctor urgently) are on the day or the next day. 5/

There are plenty of problems in the NHS and with patients getting GP appointments, but Pulse magazine and the Guardian should deal with the FACTS and not misleading half truths that don’t give an accurate picture. 6/

We keep getting told immigration is a good thing and adds to society, but if society is no school places, houses, roads or appointments to see their GPs. How can it be a good thing
-
Immigrants are net contributors so pay their way. Issues you refer to are caused by Tory austerity choices - they haven’t invested in these services as rather give tax cuts to the rich. For the few not the many
-
No, that's false. Even the largest survey by a far left, rabidly pro mass migration professor showed that there is a net negative contribution, especially wrt to non-EU immigrants.pic.twitter.com/Qy6tluSbFL

Here's a table with three sources of economic studies: OECD, CReAM, MWUK. The one already cited above is CReAM.pic.twitter.com/jbsvRlCr7d

Furthermore, this only takes into account fiscal costs. it does not include: 1. Societal costs 2. Stepped infrastructure costs Societal costs might include the costs of Islamist terrorism that would not have happened but for that type of immigration.
-
The Rand Corporation estimated terrorism in the UK from 2004-2016 cost £43 billion. The overwhelming majority of this was Islamist terrorism. CEBR estimate 7/7 London bombings cost £2 billion. Manchester Arena suicide bombing probably something like that.

Guess I am one of the lucky ones then. My doctor has a walk in service in the morning, may have to wait an hour or two but will definitely be seen and an appointment service in the afternoon. Sorted.

The new idea at my doctors is the receptionist persuades you to see a nurse..I seen a nurse she kept going out to consult with the doctor..next time I seen the doctor she said don’t see the nurse again..

Count your blessings. Belfast - asked for a routine appointment in 3rd week of June. Earliest available was mid-August. Courtesy of Sinn Fein obstructing the functioning of our Government for more than 2 years now. Things falling apart.
