Illegally entering the UK is a criminal offence, no? They’re not asylum seekers because they’re arriving from France, a safe country.

How do you know that they are registered as refugees in France? Do you know this to be the case ? If your daughter had to flee from where she was born, would you like her to be met with your attitude ?
-
France is a safe country. They are not fleeing war or persecution in France, are they?
-
She doesn’t know. She just makes stuff up in order to whip up her racist groupies. She’s nothing more than a trash tabloid hackette and a very enthusiastic pay-for-play racist and hate monger.

Actually, as stated in the article - "It is an established principle that those in need of protection should claim asylum in the first safe country they reach and since January more than 60 people who arrived illegally in the UK on small boats have been returned to Europe."

Seeking asylum is not illegal under British or international law, and the fact you place the emphasis on hatred, rather than celebrating the fact thirty of our fellow human beings have thankfully been rescued is very telling, Julia.
-
That's why i blocked her. I dread to think what the evil excuse for a human is vomiting out into the universe.

What crimes had these criminals committed?
-
Just entering the country illegally
-
If they were rescued off the coast they hadn't entered the country illegally or otherwise
-
That was attempting to , tell you what leave your passport at home get on a boat and try to get into another country , let me know how you get on
-
You don't think it's a good thing they were rescued? You would rather they drowned for not having a passport?
-
Don't set off then they wouldn't be in danger of drowning. Stay where they are, don't waste our coastguard resources on them let the French sort it their problem they helped create it.
-
I think it can be argued that in recent years we have done more than our fair share in creating the refugee 'problem', don't you?
-
They are economic migrants nothing else, their own culture causes their problems I'm afraid.

You have submitted your evidence of their crimes to the police? If not, are you guilty of obstruction of justice? Given that you know they are criminals, with such certainty that, as a journalist, you are prepared to make a public announcement to that effect?
-
If they are trying to enter the UK illegally they are breaking the law
-
If ... so we wait for the criminal justice system to decide, not self-appointed judge-and-jury
@JuliaHB1 . The UK is an upholder of the rule of law, not of the rule of any rabble rouser or mob. -
Quite obvious they are guilty, caught on camera ''flying low'' but not low enough not to be spotted by eagle eyed cameras
-
What an amazing gift you have, being able to determine the guilt or innocence of each individual on the basis of a sketchy newspaper report that itself does not ascribe guilt or innocence. Or have you interviewed the individuals to see, for example, if any are claiming asylum?
-
No need when caught bang to rights, any credible defence lawyer would remain seated at this point
-
Sounds like lynch mob mentality to me.
-
They may have defences available to them directly or indirectly through Article 31 of the UN Convention on Refugees. It is plain wrong to label them criminals immediately. Have more compassion and respect for the process of the law.
