1/2 The biggest problem facing the NHS is that of people abusing it because “it’s free”, except it’s not free, tax payers pay a huge chunk of their tax to make it free for all and we all should treat the NHS better starting with simple things like turning up for appointments ..
-
2/2 .. exercising/eating properly when told by GP’s to loose weight, drinking in moderation, cutting out smoking likewise etc .. it’s a free country if you choose not to fine, but IMHO you should go to the “back of the queue” behind those that treat the NHS better.
-
The problem is the majority of the population are following the completely flawed high carb low fat dietary guidelines pumped out by the NHS which are the cause of the increase in obesity, Alzheimer’s and other illnesses. The NHS is part of the problem.
-
The individual is never at fault right?, not their fault they can’t be bothered turning up for appointments, not their fault they prefer to spend money on beer/spirits/cigs than fruit, not their fault they prefer to buy pizza n chips than cook, no it’s always the states fault..
-
I didn't say that, however, the individual is hindered by the state's dietary guidelines. Avoiding processed foods and home cooking yourself loads of pasta, rice and grain based meals will still cause huge damage to the human body metabolically.
-
The NHS guidelines in simple terms are a "balanced diet" .. check out the guidance. What is doesn't stress enough IMHO is the importance (mentally as well as physically) of regular exercise as diet and exercise go hand in hand.
-
Wrong. The NHS guidelines have got the balance of food groups completely wrong and should be thrown out. They should be ignored by the population in favour of LCHF. Also one cannot use exercise to fix the damage a bad diet does to the body.
-
Who says they are wrong? - I mean I'm a former research scientist, where is the *consensus* scientific expert evidence that the NHS is providing incorrect advice ?

I've always said for the sake of pensions the Government should be handing out free cigarettes to school children.

i agree with his premise...it is kinda more cost effective for someone to die earlier and it is kinda a free choice issue .......let smokers smoke .. let fatties eat .......let alcos drink them selfs to death....let fitness freaks die earlier due to overworking thier hearts x

The thing is, wasn't this from the "Moral maze" where panelists are chosen to test opposing views to the extreme for entertainment? Hardly fair to then attack a panelist for doing what he's asked to do surely?

And so we have it confirmed, the rise of middle-class supremacism, and the inevitable eugenic rhetoric that follows.
-
Think there are plenty of fat middle class people. I'd be ok dying around 60ish. I don't want to become incapable of taking care of myself and don't want to be really old. It doesn't look like much fun.
-
There is so much mental illness and drug addition among young people, obviously foe some it's not much fun being young either?
