More excellent news for our beleaguered planet as the birth rate in England and Wales hits a new low. Happily fertility is falling in all age groups bar women of 40+ years.

I think his point is that English and Welsh people are inherently bad so the less of them the better.

          2. Western economies demanding ever more growth to make products for ever more people. Climate change isn't the problem. 7-8 Billion humans are already too much for this small world. Where does it stop. When will THE elephant in the room be addressed?

Birthrate for Europeans is 1.6 ave. For non Europeans residing in Europe..6.8...... This means your children or grandchildren will be involved in a massive civil war and you ignored it because you didn’t understand maths.

Not really, there *are* too many people on this planet to sustain. We can never truly tackle poverty if the population isn't controlled, although granted the issue clearly isn't from England and Wales.

Regardless of economics, one species with no natural predators. WEST: extending lifespan as far as possible, eradicating most diseases, curing ailments, IVF treatment for those who originally would be childless. Global efforts to eradicate famine/disease.

In all honesty the planet would probably be nicer with half the people on it, there would be less traffic and more chance of finding an affordable house in an area that you like.

I remember when people were talking about trying to reduce the birthrate, possibly along the lines of the Chinese system. Then all of a sudden Tony Blair says we need more people to pay for our aging population - a social care Ponzi scheme!
