Brexit party battling like mad to stop Brexiteer voters moving back to Boris. Latest poll has Brexit party on 9. One poll in a volatile situation but if they slide they lose leverage.https://twitter.com/TiceRichard/status/1156958475194425344 …

How do you define it? Plus reducing the Conservative vote and letting in other Remainers? There are Tory MPs who will be problematic, sure. I suspect a rapid round of retirements, deselections and punch-ups is in the offing in late August.
-
Conservatives stand down and let only Brexit Party compete in those North/Midlands/Welsh Labour-held constituencies which Conservatives have no chance of winning anyway. Brexit Party does not contest seats held by ERG or other non-Remainer Conservatives.
-
Seems only fair after what happened in Brecon
-
A Conservative/Brexit Party alliance could actually work effectively in a general election, whereas a 'Remain alliance' (LD/Green/Plaid Cymru) could probably only succeed in a by-election in an individual constituency.
-
Based on?
-
Greens and Plaid Cymru are both too-marginal minority parties to win all but a very few constituencies in their own right. LDs would swamp the other two. And Labour would never join an electoral alliance with any other party.
-
And the other half of the statement?
-
Not sure what you mean by "other half". But on Leave side, I'd see a limited pact: Brexit Party agrees not to contest (say) 100 seats held by Brexiteer Conservatives, while Cons stand down in negotiated number of strongly pro-Leave Labour-held seats in North/Midlands/Wales.

It seems to make perfect logical sense to me and I don’t understand why the Conservatives are not working with the Brexit party now??

The Tories are a brexit party, even if if not all their MPs are. The Brexiteers are thick, but not sure they're thick enough to split the brexit vote.

There will not be a Brexit - it was never going to be allowed to happen. An Election makes Brexit less likely. Corbyn will be forced- kicking and screaming- into making a second referendum part of his manifesto. He wants to be PM more than he wants Brexit.

It's hardly rocket science. The problem is EU belligerent MPs. Target those constituencies and the Brexit Party will clean up in a way that limits the possibility of a Labour government - something I'd like because I dislike the Gulag lifestyle.
