"The Soviet Union was created by coercion and very often with a military occupation. The European Union is being created, admitably not by armed force, but by coercion and economic bullying". Says it all doesn't it!?
-
It does.. The scary thing is.. it has all been done under our noses.. I mean, how could we have been so bloody stupid.. I’m angry with myself over it. Imagine we didn’t have that referendum.. We would be like lambs to the slaughter

-
We were never asked. It wasn’t a question of the electorate being stupid. It was generations of politicians that have done this to us

-
Fear I may sound like something a remainer will say, but anyway

I wasn’t born when we entered the EU.. I was never asked until 2016.
Politicians are to blame.. -
when we joined the Common market (which was fine) in 1973, I was 4. The people weren’t asked about it till 1975, after we’d joined. They said yes to continued membership. The people have not been asked since with respect to the treaties that followed. -
I was born 75.. My entire life we have been embroiled in it. Can’t wait to leave..
-
Me, just a couple of years later, but basically the same. A grand scheme to try and slowly introduce a system under the radar. But the EU got impatient and tried to hurry it along. That's where they have been found out, Leaving is the right choice now, for us at least.

I take it you mean like England vs Northern Ireland?
-
Who’s forcing anything on NI?
-
It's a long list Julia . The DUP do not represent majority opinion in NI . They have failed to form a power sharing executive denying NI people democratic representation.DUP are supporting Johnson on No Deal Brexit notwithstanding HMG's obligations under Belfast Peace Agreement
-
The DUP represent a large portion of people in NI the only reason the NI assembly is not working is Sinn Fein

Extraordinary. If Brexiters "didn't know they voted for", I'm damn sure it applies to Remainers x1000.
-
The tragedy is at least some Remainers don't care. They truly believe in the idea of a 'benign dictatorship'. I've discussed the loss of democracy with Remainers before, but they have no concept of its value, they take our hard won freedoms for granted.
-
Yes.. but so long as there’s lots of immigrants to serve you coffee in Pret - and so long as they don’t live anywhere near you - you can claim some form of moral high ground

Wooooaaaahhhhh!!!!!! Everyone MUST watch this!!!!

Sums up the EU in a nut shell. Using force to get people to do what you want. How undemocratic is that?
-
Force? He says that decisions should be made by majority rather than unanimity. You know, like in our Parliament.
-
Oh, of course, that would so grand. Yet we've seen enough of the EU to understand that "majority" to them is giving the answer the EU wants. I'd call that unanimity and rubber-stamping! Just look at the latest issues with their current President to see that.
-
Not only the latest president. Euroscepticism is rising; look at Poland, Hungary, Austria, Greece, France, Spain, Italy.https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/euroscepticism-on-the-rise-across-europe-as-analysis-finds-increasing-opposition-to-the-eu-in-france-a7069766.html …

The EU is trying to dig itself out of a hole by digging downwards. It's inevitable collapse is certainly in the not to distant future.
-
So if it's collapse is inevitable how are they bullying us if they're falling apart. One day its all powerful overlord the next it's a collapsing disaster.
-
What do think a weak state does? Tries to overplay its strength until it can no longer hold back the tide.
