How do you cope with being so superior to ordinary folk? Must be a strain.

Given that I am ordinary folk...?
-
Judging by how many seemingly annoy you I think you consider yourself a cut above, no?
-
No, I just find a lot of people annoying. It doesn’t mean I think I’m superior to them. I just don’t like them.

Try being stuck in a maternity ward for a week with a woman who FaceTimed multiple times daily, on speaker, whilst you, your newborn and others are trying to sleep
#thoughtless -
Same on a high Care surgical ward I knew more about the patient in the next beds life than I did about our own

We live in a day and age where few exercise common courtesy anymore. If you politely try to say anything, you get a disgusting verbal lashing or worse.
-
We live in an age where people have no social skills and it really shows. To be successful in many jobs people need to have social skills. When they enter the workforce and get fired for being stupid they blame everyone else. These are the same people demanding $15 an hour.
-
Yeah that's true. I once lost a friend when we graduated because she kept turning all entry level medical Jobs down expecting to be hired right out of school on like 40-50k salary. I told her the reality and she didn't like it and never spoke to me again.

I think part of it is the impression teachers and others give off to students. They talks as if everyone will be rich just because they have a degree. In some careers a Master’s or PhD is required to make good money. The one Psychology professor told me how some of his students
-
Get angry when they find out to be a Psychologist that you need a PhD. He said many people come to college and only get a bachelors thinking they will become a Psychologist making 6 figures straight out of their undergraduate degree.

If only life were that easy eh? I also think a lot of it is the way now a days, teachers and parents reward kids for just showing up and putting little effort in. Gone are the days where kids are taught valuable work ethics what to realistically expect our of life.
-
I am happy that my parents taught me the value of hard work. It has really helped me do well in life. Unfortunately like you said too many people show up to class or work, put little to no effort in anything, and expect to be promoted or to get straight A’s.
-
Yeah, same. It's also why vocations to the priesthood and entry into convents are low compared to past generations. It feels like these days, less and less people are charitable or taught to give freely. We are living in the entitlement generation.
