What I dont get is why Linaker gets so much more than everyone else. He is a boring pleb.

Bet if you cut all the top 3 salary and paid them only £1,000,000, they would still do the job. I hate this largesse using public money and a reluctance to save money. Paying high salaries does not mean you get value for money.

Lineker : 1 prog a week ( Match of the Day ) Aug to May, once a year Sports Personality of The Year, the World Cup every 4 years. Value for money ? How do the BBC structure their pay scales ?

They could get people just as good for a fraction of these wages. Pathetic

Gary Lineker works 38 hours per year, presenting highlights of a sport that’s not on the BBC.. Alan Shearer probably works half that he’s on £490,999 per year
nice work if you can get it... -
On the figures you provide, that is 46k an hour!!! and he will pay little tax on that with his off shore financial plans!! Good luck to him for doing well but there is a point where he seems to be sticking two fingers up, along with the BBC--Doubt if I will ever watch MOD again!
-
He does the World Cup every 4 years and Europeans Championship...I class them as paid BBC holidays,I bet he doesn’t pay the hotel or food bills..
-
Of course not--he will not pay for ANYTHING and have a hefty expenses account a la MP???

Why does it always feel like I am paying £150 a year for lots of people to be going on a jolly all the time?
-
Why does it also seem like my £150 pays a guy in a room somewhere to just press a button that says REPEAT? For every top 20 earner at the bbc they could pay for another original show! And why are radio 4 allowed to swear during the hours of the day and not get in trouble?

Some of those salaries would have to be slashed if the BBC was funded by commercials.

Wow, apart from the odd tournament, that’s a lot of dough, for just fronting match of the day, on a Saturday evening

The BBC PR operation from Perfect Curve is superb. It distracts with stories about gender gaps so that nobody notices they pay for mediocrity.

What does Vanessa Feltz do on BBC? I only ever see her on ITV & I've never heard her on radio.
-
According to Wikipedia... “She currently presents an early morning radio show on BBC Radio 2 and the Breakfast show on BBC Radio London.”
-
Thanks. Just checked Radio Times. She does 90 mins on Radio 2 while most of us are still in bed & a regional radio show which most if us can't hear. Clearly worth the money.
