The Conservative party denies they have an Islamophobia problem. New poll of members finds: - 40% want limit on Muslims entering UK - 43% don't want a Muslim PM - 67% believe Sharia law rules parts of UK - 45% think there are no-go areas for non-Muslimshttps://www.businessinsider.com/poll-muslim-islamophobia-among-conservative-party-members-boris-johnson-leadership-2019-6?r=US&IR=T …

If you suspect that over 40% islamaphobia is representative of the wider UK, then no one can be criticised for saying we have a racism problem that needs tackling.
-
Islam isn't a race. So your point is invalid.
-
Well observed, but islamophobia isn’t criticism of the faith. It is the discrimination of people who follow the faith. If you categorise persons strictly by the faith they adhere to you define them (the persons) as a race.
-
It isn't and you don't. Thanks.

That's a totally different thing to whether it's a legitimate view to hold.
-
Yes they must be re-educated. We could have special camps

-
What a brilliant idea! Anyone who thinks outside of the 'acceptable' view must be corrected. Perhaps Summer camps for the offenders, food held back 'til capitulation, no freedoms allowed, your family with you because you can't be too careful...ahhh..it has been done already

-
Obvs only anyone that agrees with the fbpe loons has legitimate views
-
Arguing that it's legitimate to hold racist views really isn't the best hill to die on but you do you I guess
-
Arthur...I am actually arguing about the freedom to think. Think outside the box love. And thank you for your concern, but I chose what hill I die on, bless you x
-
Who on earth is arguing that you don't have freedom to think? Just because your worldview is being challenged it doesn't mean that your existence is under threat.
-
See above...'a legitimate view to hold' Have you seen the thing between the teacher in Aberdeenshire?17 yo student all over the internet? PC is a form of censorship, the right to expressing our thoughts have been eroded over the years. Existing would be the operative word!

I don’t know if the exact same questions were asked across society, as above but about a third of the country think there are ‘no-go areas’pic.twitter.com/v2uGBU5Os3

I'm not a Tory and I agree with all them points, and I don't have an irrational fear of Islam. The fear of getting blown up or stabbed after getting run over is not irrational

It doesn’t seem a legitimate question when the very point is about the Conservative party it’s at best an interesting aside but one that doesn’t add to the discussion about.....the Conservative party.
-
So by asking whether the public at large have the same feelings are you saying that’s normal and therefore legitimising this kind of ideology?

It's not a legitimate question when it's purpose is to legitimise islamophobia. It's not ok even if it's indicitive of wider British society.
