If we leave the EU, Remoaners believe our dear friends across the Channel will, out of sheer spite, stop British children from getting the vital life-saving medicines they need. Really? It seems us Brexiteers have a higher opinion of our European cousins than Remoaners do...https://twitter.com/doctor_oxford/status/1139506040880472064 …

A minimum of 6-8 months is needed to stockpile sufficient NHS drugs for a No Deal Brexit. I suppose @BorisJohnson’s ‘charisma’ will fix this, will it? Or is it more that he doesn’t care a jot about the lives his recklessness posturing endangers? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-no-deal-boris-johnson-medicine-supply-drug-stockpile-nhs-a8955021.html …

Have you read actually read the piece, Julia? This is not (of course) a matter of our European neighbours maliciously denying us drugs. The logistics of pharmaceutical trade are complex and unwieldy. No Deal would exacerbate this greatly, hence need for significant stockpiling.

Some of the key issues are outlined here. The concerns are practical, logistical. Nothing to do with EU27 malice, as you suggest:https://www.gponline.com/no-deal-brexit-disrupt-medicine-supplies-at-least-six-months-dhsc-admits/article/1525946 …

No shit Sherlock. I am aware of all the issues. Your concerns are based on scaremongering “leaks” from a Remoaner civil service which pretend to take the view that this is all far too complicated for anyone to cope with and imports of medicines from the EU will virtually cease...

...cos bureaucracy will be allowed to trump health needs. It won’t. Your view is based on a negative view of the apparent unwillingness of both sides to make this work. We should definitely press govt to ensure they ARE dealing with this. But don’t do Remoaner propaganda for them

Take a look at the cost of Brexit to the pharmaceutical companies in preparation for a no deal Brexit - money already spent £100’sM across the sector to ensure continuity of supply. More cost to deliver which will be passed on one way or another
