If we leave the EU, Remoaners believe our dear friends across the Channel will, out of sheer spite, stop British children from getting the vital life-saving medicines they need. Really? It seems us Brexiteers have a higher opinion of our European cousins than Remoaners do...https://twitter.com/doctor_oxford/status/1139506040880472064 …

As you’ll know, the BMA, NMC, Royal Pharmaceutical Society, British pharmaceutical industry, medical Royal Colleges & chief medical officer of the NHS are all united in warning of the risks to patients of No Deal Brexit. But perhaps your expertise outstrips theirs?
-
Most (all?) of those groups also warned of the dangers of Brexit at all. Remoaner nonsense. I don’t claim to be an expert in this but the people who ARE the experts on No Deal planning, trade, imports etc insist those fears are unfounded. Maybe they know better than both of us?

Hey Julia, I deleted everything in your tweet that wasn’t bollocks. You’re welcome.pic.twitter.com/lWN6VlzrGY

Lastly, for patients with epilepsy, insulin-dependent diabetes, cancer and a host of other conditions where speed & efficiency of drug supply is critical, a comment like “Relax, it will be fine” is stunningly cavalier and - yes - ignorant.
-
This is the attitude we have come to expect from
#Brexiteers over the years!... 'relax, we've got this'.

You have "spoken to Brexit ministers", like ones who didn't know the importance of Dover? Also "relax, it will be fine" - please remind us of your credentials / experience concerning imports and exports (going skiing does not count).

You... you've "spoken to the Health Secretary and Brexit Ministers"
? Well thank goodness they haven't been shown up to be incompetent fools time & time again... oh, wait... -
Juliet has spoken to "5000-fridge Hancock" the fridge magnate? The EU wasn't a problem until rich tax-dodgers got spooked by EU clampdown. Brexiters have made no secret about NHS privatisation. Some asthma inhalers cost US patients $500 a month. The insulin rip-off is coming too

Not sure what diplomats know about logistics. Our research suggests ‘relax it will be fine’ is not an appropriate or sensible attitude.

I work in the pharmaceutical industry, it wont be spite that causes delays but the rules and regulations you have to comply with. There are no short cuts in the drug trade. Add the delays caused by our normal trade with the EU, our country will face severe difficulties. Fact.

The point is without Brexit we wouldn’t even have to worry about this. If it’s going to be fine or not no one can say. What is real is that many UK patients with chronic conditions are in a state of perpetual worry not knowing if they’ll be ok or not? It is just not worth it.
-
But I do agree with
@doctor_oxford that the likelihood that there are going to be problems is higher than that everything is going to be fine. Brexit is an incredibly complex problem which was been managed catastrophically badly. Stop pretending that it’s straightforward.

How condescending Julia. Can you produce some figures that might put our Remoaner minds at rest with regards to medication supplies?
-
JHB will not be able to do that.. the ones who know that stuff have all been gagged with NDA
