Have you read actually read the piece, Julia? This is not (of course) a matter of our European neighbours maliciously denying us drugs. The logistics of pharmaceutical trade are complex and unwieldy. No Deal would exacerbate this greatly, hence need for significant stockpiling.

I do enjoy how you think everyone who disagrees with you is stupid or ignorant. Of course I’d read the sodding article. I’ve also spoken to trade, industry and diplomatic experts & the Health Sec & Brexit Ministers about this issue. Relax. It will be fine.
-
As you’ll know, the BMA, NMC, Royal Pharmaceutical Society, British pharmaceutical industry, medical Royal Colleges & chief medical officer of the NHS are all united in warning of the risks to patients of No Deal Brexit. But perhaps your expertise outstrips theirs?
-
Most (all?) of those groups also warned of the dangers of Brexit at all. Remoaner nonsense. I don’t claim to be an expert in this but the people who ARE the experts on No Deal planning, trade, imports etc insist those fears are unfounded. Maybe they know better than both of us?

Hey Julia, I deleted everything in your tweet that wasn’t bollocks. You’re welcome.pic.twitter.com/lWN6VlzrGY

You are addressing a doctor, please can you show some respect. Her tweet involves facts, but your tweet is an opinion. I think i'll listen to the expert. Thanks. A
#crohns sufferer -
Er, I wasn’t addressing her. I also wasn’t disrespectful. I defer to her greater knowledge on medical issues, of course. But she isn’t a trade specialist so has no expertise in this area for me to defer to. Your health issues are irrelevant to the conversation. Next?

NoDeal will be frankly dangerous, that’s not Project Fear...that’s based on OUR actual plans that I saw, which is why I blew the whistle to

Crashing out is not a solution. What madness has taken over our country that so many people think otherwise?
-
It’s as if we’ve put Andrew Wakefield in charge of vaccination policy....quite incredible, collective self harm led by the 309 idiots who voted for
#NoDeal last week -
A particular madness is this idea that holding No Deal like a Sword of Damocles over the head of the EU is a realistic negotiating tactic. Threatening to shoot yourself in both feet never works well in negotiations.
-
Quite...the only one of Tory leadership candidates who has actually thought about how stupid
#NoDeal would be
@RoryStewartUK (though he was 1 of the 309 this week
I guess their will be other votes

Unlike the front runner, Rory Stewart plays with a straight bat. He is my favourite by a country mile.

Imports would be delayed by customs checks. WTO rules would prohibit the UK from allowing goods to enter tariff free from the EU but not from the rest of the world. And if we eliminated all tariffs we'd lose a huge bargaining chip in trade negotiations.

Julia, it isn’t our “dear friends” across the channel that provide us with medicines. These are provided by commercial organisations through complex supply chains that want to make a profit and need to operate in accordance with EU law. Spite doesn’t come into it.
