Jo Brand’s comments were stupid. But a matter for the police? Have we completely lost our minds.

To be fair it was those on the left that started this nonsense. It’s deserved blowback.

I didn’t like the ‘joke’, I thought Jo Brand over-stepped the line but - when we get to the point where - however nasty it is - humour starts to be censored, we end up with a Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy and God forbid, Charlie Hebdo.

No, it’s not. There is nothing funny in seeing a person’s face dissolve. Unfortunately, Jo Brand thinks she’s funny by being controversial.

Double standard as many already pointed out. So no it is not ok.

Double standards from the BBC is the problem, it condemns the rape joke and devotes a @vicderbyshire programme to that condemnation whilst excusing Jo Brand for an equally stupid joke.

Perhaps - Unfortunately, if she gets a face full of acid in the next few months, I hope she can see the funny side. I most certainly will not.

Thing is it’s all very well for us to say it’s not a police matter, but what if you’re @nigelfarage? Having already had stuff thrown at him, he might not feel so secure that someone wouldn’t think, oh, battery acid, never thought of that.

Yes inciting violence doesn’t depend on religion or anything else. She said it, the BBC broadcast it.
