Boris concerns me. He is cleverer than I thought. He is winding up his opponents into revealing their true selves. For the past few days, Rory looked like cute Bambi with big teeth, now he shows himself as a radical who is threatening and willing to overthrow the PM

Folks, if English isn’t your first language please get it translated before you comment. That set of words was a plain and simple defence of parliamentary democracy from
@RoryStewartUK . And I defy anyone to come up with a better one -
Your wording is awfully patronising, nay, sarcastic. This won’t help reasonable discussion
-
That’s exactly my point. That statement from Rory was the top end of reasonable discussion. If it hasn’t got through to you, then reason won’t. I can only speculate why. And I picked by far the most polite option,
-
I understand what he says despite your unnecessarily patronising tone. I don’t trust him an inch.
-
He’s making the statement that Parliament will resist any PM that tries to close Parliament to impose what they claim to be “the will of the people” If this wasn’t true, we would not have a parliamentary democracy. Your trust is irrelevant. So is my tone.

Anyone spot this week’s mistake in Yulia’s impassioned defence of the parliamentary democracy she fought so hard to protect from Johnny Foreigner ?
-
Not the biggest vote by any means. Several post-war elections saw bigger turnouts and larger pluralities.

He voted for May’s deal to ensure that the UK left the EU. How is he trying to prevent it?
-
He's not, he's preventing no deal. Which would be bad.
-
My point is that Julia is under the impression that he is trying to prevent Brexit. When really he has done far more to make it happen than ERG types.
-
No he’s not. The WA isn’t Brexit.
-
But it is? I’m no fan of it either but the WA would literally see the UK leave the EU. The literal definition of Brexit.
-
No, the withdrawal agreement would not "literally see the UK leave the EU" far from it, the WA would trap the UK in a legally binding treaty with no way of ever leaving the EU, that's John Eveleign is what a definition of a
#BrexitBetrayal looks like, definately not#Brexit -
Hi, thanks for your comments. I actually think any type of Brexit is an awful idea and this has been exemplified by the chaos in this once great country for the past three years. But no, the WA is definitely Brexit, just not your preferred type of Brexit. Thanks for your time.
-
This is my favourite thread of the day. Dude has a massive issue with the WA. Demands no deal. Proceeds to solve border issue for no deal. Unwittingly also solves the backstop, not realising it's exactly the same problem! https://twitter.com/NoahTomato/status/1139208070091956226?s=20 …

I started to think Rory was OK. Now? Just another one unhinged

-
I used to think he was a decent politician as Minister of Prisons but, he does seem to gone off piste ..... bizarre!! But hey it all seems a bit like the X Factor Auditions - how on earth some of them think they have the experience to be PM is beyond me....
-
Forget the spin, he failed on prisons despite all his rhetoric
-
Regardless of that (and I am not making excuses for him but, is it always a Minister's fault or the civil servants or the consultants employed??), I still think he came across as a fairly decent straightforward genuine human being. But, his true self seems to be coming through..
-
I am not sure why you keep sending me information about Rory Stewart's Prison Ministerial position because I think we are in agreement about him. As a fairly good judge of character, I will stand my first observations of him. Thank you any way for the info.
-
And your first observation was spot on

-
Yep. My mum was saying tonight that she thought he came across as nice but, then asked if he was a Brexiteer. Initially there is something quite different & endearing about him. I told her that I had read somewhere someone thinks he looks like Josef Goebbels…. she laughed!
