You can always rely on a Brexiteer to moan about Parliamentary sovereignty when they see a vote going against them

Parliament isn’t sovereign. The people are.
-
Parliament is sovereign and the country is a parliamentary democracy, however much you might not like it. If people don’t like the decisions their MP makes, they have the chance to vote for someone else in the next GE.

I thought it was all about sovereignty, does that not include parliamentary sovereignty or just a la carte sovereignty
-
Well Gerard, parliamentary sovereignty is being used to frustrate the nation getting sovereignty and in this case by an MP in a strong leave region who was elected on a tory ticket but is now not a tory but also won't go for a by-election.
-
Unfortunately the lies that were told in order to achieve brexit & further the career of unscrupulous politicians, ie
@BorisJohnson etc,in my opinion the only resolve is a people’s vote. I don’t think@LiamFox is finding it as easy as he said to get trade deals either another lie -
Just like those nice cuddly pre-war national socialists, ignore the votes you don't like eh?
-
I wouldn’t say it’s advisable to ignore a democratic vote, but if the vote was swayed by lies on the side of a bus etc, then the people were conned & continue to be conned
-
Gerard, I do not agree with your assertion that the slogan on the vote leave bus was a lie. The amount came from the ONS pink book. I guess the words should have matched the speeches which all included "and other things". All politicians put spin on campaigns.
-
Johnson explicitly insisted that 350m was (a conservative estimate of) the net figure. He knew it wasn’t. That’s the lie.
-
Alan, prove that BJ ever said net. Source? The matter went before the electoral commission during the campaign due to a complaint from a liberal mp. Vote Leave said since we do not *control* where or how the refund is expended we won't change the amount.
