The top paid 25% of the UK workforce pays 70% of UK tax. So 8 million hard working people fund 70% of everything the UK has and does, including the welfare and benefits for every single claimant and immigrant. It's about time someone recognised and represented them.

It’s very simple. We are not talking about well off people. We are talking about people that work bloody hard to achieve a salary. Why should 40% of it be taxed?? I’m all for society. But sometimes society needs to help those that continually put in.

Try explaining to someone raising a family, paying an eye-watering mortgage for a modest home and struggling under a heavy tax burden why their £50k salary should be taxed at the higher rate. There is no such thing as a bad tax cut, and this one is long overdue.
