It's rocket science to them, democracy. Or "populism" as they like to call it. Peasants doing the wrong thing, en masse.

Democracy is when they vote the way you want. Populism is when they don't vote the way you want.

Miliband lost to the Conservatives in 2015, who proposed having a second referendum. Don't remember him campaigning against it much at the time.

I seriously doubt he lost because of the proposed vote. I’d put much of it down to the general public making judgement on superficial grounds, i.e. he looks like a geek.

UKIP was eating into the Tory vote. Cameron sold the referendum to UKIP supporters who then voted for Cameron. UKIP plunged. I’m a strongly anti Brexit remainer and I think it was the referendum that won Cameron the majority

That’s still not the same as saying people avoided Labour because of it. The media made it a personality and looks issue with Miliband.

I find that so patronising. Cameron didn’t agree to that referendum lightly but there was a groundswell of opposition to the EU through the Referendum Party and UKIP and then he tried to get the EU to compromise...Ed you didn’t win for that reason.
