Tell my hubby that when he's doing his 30 mile round trip to work and back on a 12 hr shift, sure public transport will be only too happy to lay on a bus for him at 5am in the morning, stupid woman.

And the roads. They hate roads, too.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-48512697 …

@JuliaHB1 Do you actually care about the environment?? -
Last time I looked UK carbon footprint / contribution to world pollution was around 2pc, a positive way forward is to target the worlds real polluters.

Cars are fine. It's over population that's truly causing the problems, including with cars. Drive through SW London today. It'll take you 4 hours to get from Sloane Square to Richmond. All roads logjammed. Hammersmith Bridge only in part to blame.
-
I don't want to blow your mind, but google 'The District Line'. It does exactly that journey in 1/8th of the time.
-
Yeah, but my double bass is a pain in the arse on the tube ;-)
-
Retract the spike for transport, I always do. Happy to help :-)
-
That doesn't help, how am I to hold back the crowds if I retract the spike - it's the best line of defence I have against the phone blind!
-
Tbh I only get to borrow a double bass occasionally, but happily cycle with a sodding great 5 fretless acoustic bass guitar on my back. Gets a bit tricky with doorways. Did once see someone cycle round Hyde Pk corner with a double bass on their back - now that's hardcore :-)
-
A regular sight in Amsterdam - there must be a music college nearby. Saw a number of people with double bass or large instruments strapped to their backs.

Sure, because switiching to cleaner fuel is very much like being taken away to imprisonment, torture and probably death. Fuck off, Julia.

You seem really nice. That isn’t what her tweet was about. Do you struggle to read?
-
Oddly, no. You are emulating the style of Martin Niemöller's "First they came..." poem, deliberately I assume. So I suggest you read up on what that poem is all about and then tell me wether you reckon it's appropriate to mock an MEP over car emissions.
-
She knows. I keep having to tell people this: it's not ignorance or stupidity. She's just a bit wrong.

Bloody Londoncentric MPs, wanna try living in rural Cornwall without a car.... & now Labour propose a 10 hour week.. Is it April 1st already
-
1.
@MollyMEP Is from the south west not London. 2. I commuted from Newquay to Falmouth using public transport. For nearly 3 years. Sometimes its not the best but it works! 3. Wouldn't it be nice if public transport was better in Cornwall? More people might use it! - 1 more reply
