It is so much easier, one no, no discussion. My first child I discussed everything with the second (having learned my error with the first) I practised zero tolerance from birth, the second is the happiest, most successful self disciplined one. Zero tolerance is the way

Haha, a guy on here told me he "disagrees with my parenting style" when I said I had porn-blockers and time restrictions on my 12y/o's laptop. My kids don't even ask for sweets. If I feel like buying them some, it is always unprompted.

Unfortunately today, people always want to blame somebody else rather than take responsibility for their own actions. Easier to blame the sweet manufacturer than themselves.

Our kids knew that if they played up everything would be put back on the shelves and then they go straight home. Wife did this twice so no stopping off at the park to play on the chute on the way home. Kids are learning and its not their fault they don't know the boundaries.

Just think of it as the remain camp in the brexit debate. They think if they ask for a 2nd referendum often enough we'll just cave and say 'if it'll shut you up just have it'. That's how pester power works.
