Hi John, my parents came to London because the British Empire came to their homes first. Like me, they were proud to be British subjects and proud to be English too. For Englishness to be worthwhile, it has to be about shared stories, institutions and values. Not just DNA. https://twitter.com/JohnCleese/status/1133604249693110272 …

No. He's lying, he isn't proud to be British or English. He's as divisive as they come and the only reason he's even quoted John is to turn it into a race baiting session later on so he can personally gain from the whole situation.

I think at @JohnCleese has a point. London has always been a melting pot & has rightly welcomed foreigners but in the past these cultures were gently absorbed & enriched our own. But in recent years 300k a year is just too many, too fast.

Why? He brought race into the equation (again) despite the fact that Cleese never mentioned it. A shared sense of national identity is not synonymous with race.

Were taught to embrace other cultures and people from other countries but if we embrace our englishness, britishness were labelled racist or fascist. We wave a st George flag and were far right. I'm happy for anyone come to Britain but they must embrace our cultures and values to

Why would I not go back? Many reasons, somalian gangs intimidating people, knife crime at record highs, it stinks, its overcrowded, the people are rude and have no manners, muslim men telling random strangers how to dress. Should I go on? All this is what was once a lovely area.
