Let’s make one thing clear to any cabinet minister that is considering standing. You are going to have to explain to the membership what your plan is in relation to Brexit. You are then going to be asked what was wrong with the PMs deal, which you supported... 1/

Again, thanks.

-
After such an endorsement I'd delete it pronto
-
Why? I wish I had a had a career 1/8th as successful in political commentary as Julia, she’s an inspiration, you don’t have to agree with her to acknowledge she knows politics.
-
The formula is there, become a gobby shock jock who plays to the lowest common denominator
-
I’m not trying to imitate Owen Jones....
-
Just aim for Darren Grimes level, minimal effort should get you there
-
I don’t need to lower myself to any level, I just write the occasional thread, sometimes their good, often their not. I’m not seeking a career in political punditry, so when a professional praises me for my commentary, I’m going to be proud of that and not care what others think.
-
She makes a living but I wouldn't call her professional. If David Vance liked your piece would you be pleased about that?

Raab is the only genuine pro-Brexit candidate.
-
I’m afraid not, and I will be doing a thread shorty but I need to finish my work first. Steve Baker is the candidate we need, and probably the one that won’t even come forward...
-
I’m afraid you mean you simply disagree, which is fine. Baker would be an excellent candidate who appears to be a Brexiter who believes in Brexit, unlike others who believe Brexit is an opportunity to deliver themselves the premiership.
-
Yes I disagree. Everyone is of course entitled to their own opinions, sorry if my tweet came across incorrectly in its intent their.
-
That’s fine, and I can see how the impression Raab voted for May’s Deal after voting against it twice would be seen as a blot on his credentials when Baker stood firm. He didn’t actually vote for May’s Deal though, which is the point.
-
I should add that your thread was an excellent analysis (in my opinion) and I look forward to your next.
-
Sorry your missing what everyone misses (which is why I’ve said I need to do a thread) Raab voting for “May’s deal” isn’t relevant, he resigned over the backstop issue with the deal saying he had not agreed it, which is fine, valid reason to resign, however, he takes great... 1/
-
...pride in having negotiated the rest of it, he even highlighted that in his article announcing his candidacy! That deal was awful, and he produced it minus the backstop, according to him, there’s the biggest issue with Raab.

A little bit Govey considering the number already declared. Clearly worried
-
I’m planning one on Raab as well next, this covered all cabinet members and was triggered by me seeing Gove announce. My next target is Raab and why he’s not right. I probably should have done cabinet, then Gove, then... but it was about 6am and I needed to get it off my chest.
-
With you on Raab!
