Within minutes of Theresa May resigning, the tributes will pour in. Don’t rewrite history. This wasn’t thrust upon her, she applied for the job. She wasn’t stopped from delivering Brexit by the Commons, it was she who sold out the country. This isn’t about duty, it’s her ego.

Could it be a win double and Hammond resigns before he's sacked by a new PM 🙏🙏

Harsh but it’s true. There is a point beyond which the best of intentions cannot make up for incompetence. Especially gross incompetence affecting the entire country. Three years pretty much wasted. In fact more to undo the mess before we start again.

It wasn't incompetence on Theresa May's part, she was fulfilling her pledge to the City bankers. She told them she'd do everything in her power to keep the UK in the EU; she's screwed it up on purpose.

I agree she did it all deliberately but I don't know where you get the bankers involvement from? This is all because she believes in the EU. Simple as that.

This slow dance to death has simply emboldened Remainer MPs who should have all swung behind Leave to achieve the best departure. It is the delay which had divided the country. Looking ahead the new PM needs to be decisive clear and scrupulously honest to the referendum result.

She was a disgraceful PM. She knowingly betrayed the Brexit process. Time to leave the EU and not before time.

She went to Brussels She said how much money would you like? What can we have if we leave? I like the sound of a backstop. We don’t mind being tied in for as long as you like. She sacked the people who could have done the job. The best part of 3 years was lost Brilliant job TM.
