I wish those two would bore off, I'm sick of hearing their tripe.

I'm still wondering why we're supposed to care what these two think

They never understood that the "centre ground" is the issues that most people are concerned about. "middle ground" are wishy washy compromises that satisfy nobody. Thatcher won elections on the "centre ground" with radical solutions to the issues people were concerned about.

Political grandees......surreal to call them that...….just old MPs.
-
Very true but I’d love to see someone introduce them on tv as “an old has been” or even better after the fawning years of calling them political heavyweights, “political deadwood “.

What they don’t understand is that we, the voters, have had enough of their lies and rhetoric, and can actually see things for what they really are.

Heseltine and some Remainers who do not accept the democratic expression of the UK electorate must now, NEVER expect anybody to accept any democratic vote in their favour in future. They have subverted the VOTE the DEMOCRATIC right of ALL. THE MOST SERIIOUS OF MATTERS

Many are sick to the back teeth with their version of the 'middle ground', they look around see what is happening & demand the right to think for themselves & draw the appropriate conclusions.

But whose "middle" and how does one define something that drifts? Liberal elite policies for last 30 years achieved little but increasing inequality, unfettered immigration to pressure on all public services and a decade of austerity affecting poorest 3 Quintiles in society

I have no time for anything Heseltine has to say. He was to Thatcher, what Edward Heath was to Powell. Two leaders the UK could sorely use if they were still alive. Betrayed by people who seek to betray us all.

Once again can anyone answer this simple question? "What is so extreme about carrying out a major manifesto commitment?"
-
It's ironic that the Briexiteers are the ones refusing to carry out a manifesto commitment and have voted against leaving EU three times.
-
Because the Maybot deal is NOT Brexit it's a contrived plan by Remainer MP's and the EU leaders to be close to staying in the EU. The UK still bound by EU rules for many years. Also the DUP will never agree to it even if ppl like the ERG did agree! WTO rules could be an option!
-
It's a compromise it gives many things you want for example We leave EU we leave ECJ we stop free movement. There's a two year transition period which is what UK businesses wanted to adapt to new environment. Most business leaders have rejected the idea of a no deal brexit.
-
I am glad you said most 'business leaders.' I may suggest that is because they like the status quo. Change and general inertia are very big obstacles for big business to over come.
-
Is there a manufacturing organization that wants a no deal exit?
-
Given that no deal is better than a bad deal, a good FTA is the best outcome. There are a few companies (Dyson to name one) who would be happy with to leave on WTO and then negotiate a comprehensive FTA. It would free up £39b to smooth the transition.
-
Dyson does not manufacture in the UK he moved to Singapore and closed his UK factories. The 5 main business organizations against leaving the country on the a no deal. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/politics/2018/dec/19/business-watching-in-horror-as-pm-plans-for-no-deal-brexit … A no deal will cause major Disruption and a severe recession
