I would prefer it if it was held in a country that was actually in Europe. Like Australia.

Why anyone would have any interest in Eurovision any way is beyond me.
-
Because it's hilarious.

Why can't they just accept it's a bloody singing contest where people just want a good time listening to crap, cheesy , pop and sometimes good songs? Yeay Gods

I haven't heard a single Eurovision song yet apart from snippets of ours (forgettable) but I've got a good idea I'll be voting for Israel again. Triggers all the right people.
-
Great irony is, they complain about Israel and human rights but let’s be honest, where else in the Middle East would the Eurovision be allowed to be hosted and have gay, transgender LGBT acts on, not many if any.
-
Well that’s the thing isn’t it, it’s the only country in the middle-east in the Eurovision!
-
But it wouldn’t be tolerated it in any other country in the Middle East if it was to be hosted there, I don’t think gay LGBT rights are high up on their agenda. The virtue signallers don’t seem to say much about human rights another middle eastern countries.

They probably ticked a petition on their computer whose processor was developed in Israel. Cockwombles indeed. Corbynites for sure.

Well said Julia. Israel is the only democracy in the middle east where all races and genders live side by side and have a vote and a say. Israel/Tel Aviv is the gay capital of the world, championing LGBTQ rights. Israel is surronded and threatend by totalitarian regimes

I think 'anti-semites' is the correct term.

No, anti-Semite covers it. After all, their obsessive hatred of the world’s only Jewish state is not extended to, for example, China, where a million Muslims are locked up in concentration camps.

They should have retired the whole farce when Terry Wogan died. Just not the same without him.
-
agreed! Tel made it worth watching this, his commentary had me in stitches - best part of an otherwise boring show.

Last time I watched it Sandy Shaw won.

This whole thread is crying out for a
#Brexit-related filk based on "Puppet on a String", but I lack the time to do one properly. If anyone else wants to, be my guest. But two lines must remain unchanged: Are you leading me on? Tomorrow, will you be gone?
