I’ll be interviewing Brexit Party leader @Nigel_Farage on my @talkRADIO breakfast show at 8am tomorrow morning. I imagine we’ll mostly talk about those rather important European elections coming next week rather than something he said 10 years ago. Call me old fashioned.https://twitter.com/BBCPolitics/status/1127508938105057281 …

Quite right Julia. He was only 45 then, and you can't be expected to be held accountable for things you stridently advocated at such a tender age.

Absolutely he, like all politicians, should be held accountable. But most of those questions have been asked and answered in interviews with Farage dozens of times before. Utterly pointless and irrelevant to the actual reason he was an interviewee on Sunday.

The interviewer and journalist should decide the "reason" for a political interview, not the interviewee. Otherwise we become collaborating propagandists. Is that what you want to be?

Of course the interviewer should decide! But those questions were tired and old and we already know the answers to them, having heard them many times

I have never heard Farage respond to the following point: up until a few years ago, he supported the Norway option - membership of the single market - which he now damns as treason. On the record. Fact. I'd appreciate you asking him.

We have seen an unprecedented growth in a political party in just a couple of weeks. And Marr wanted to talk about Russia and gun control - topics that are completely irrelevant to Europe. Incredible. I will be listening to your interview, Julia.

JHB has on record saying Farage is the most influential politician in recent history (astonishing claim). He was at her 50th. They are friends......but to dismiss Marrs interview so arrogantly because her hero didn’t answer questions is deluded
