FFS. Every broadcaster knows the rules. Shows have to be balanced during election periods. This really isn’t very complicated. And the Ofcom rules are there for a good reason. If you don’t approve of Fox News, then you should 100% approve of HIGNFY being pulled tonight.https://twitter.com/haveigotnews/status/1126934743407370241 …

Sorry everyone. The BBC have pulled tonight’s edition of #HIGNFY - no, we didn’t book Danny Baker. We booked Heidi Allen, a member of a party no-one knows the name of (not even the people in it), because the Euro elections, which nobody wants, may or may not be happening. Sorry.

And, yes, European election candidates are on political shows like Question Time but they have to ensure balance and equal air time for the main parties. Simple rules, applied by everyone to every party. Move on, folks, nothing to see here except a producer’s incompetence.

Newspapers can be as biased for or against any party they want. Tv and radio broadcasters are not allowed to be biased during specific periods leading up to any election. All guests/debates must be balanced between parties.

Election and data Laws are there for a good reason, but you care little for them when your side broke them in 2016.

I told them yesterday that this violated Ofcom rules and I don't even work for the BBC, who should know these things.

Can this be permanent - HIGNFY is well past its sell by with Merton & Hislop - it just seems to be there now to give these supposedly witty characters a forum and a pension

That show is way past it’s sell by date anyway. After 29 years it’s time to axe it

TBH I thought maybe younger fresher captains might have been the answer but it appears the same old clapped out pair will appear as long as the show lasts

And its why Farage got maximum time on QT and he'll be on again with Marr and will be allowed all the time he needs to advertise his party.

If you were paying attention, you’d have noticed Soubry and Rudd on QT. Both who have slightly different opinions to Farage.
