So, how well did @DominicRaab do in the end improving the deal. He didn’t? So he resigned? Wow. Very effective. Well done Sir.

At the end of the day, if the PM has the final say, what can any Brexit Secretary do?
-
True. But the key point is that negotiation has two sides. What
@DominicRaab needed to do was to find a way to get the other side to agree. Negotiation is partly about making the other side think they want what you want. Just saying stuff May didn’t say didn’t work. -
Raab was completely undermined by the PM - nothing he could do about that, except resign. Clear that Robbins was negotiating FOR the EU as well
. Hardly surprising the WA is so terrible with those 2 ‘representing’ us.

Yes, but he then backed down

So the civil service & the Remainers in cabinet/May’s Team really did collude with the EU to entangle the UK in the NI Backstop so as to keep the UK in the EU’s sphere of control & prevent a clean Brexit. I’m speechless at the unconstitutional, undemocratic mendacious treachery.

....and then finding out Theresa May had already cut his legs off at the knees, courtesy of a civil servant. She’s out of her depth, for sure, but a much nastier piece of work than credited. A backstabbing liar who has navigated her way to 10 Downing Street through the sewers.

It will catch on here. Can’t wait for more input from the Brexit Party. It will only take them 10mins to get us out on WTO! Farage will eat the EU alive!

Careful
@JuliaHB1 go back and watch the actual footage itself not this carefully crafted disingenuous edit They have cut away from Barnier just before Barnier gloats at how Raab immediately folded on the point -
Frankly I am deeply disappointed in
@DominicRaab He is better than this He shows us that he is just like the rest of them prepared to spin and creatively edit in order to convey a false impression He or his team also show their stupidity by doing something so easily found out

And therein lies the problem. May and Robbins.

Sorry but have I missed something here? According to Barnier, Raab came on strong but as soon as they called his bluff he backed down so basically it sounds like he was just as spineless as the rest of them.

It was really noticeable that the Barnier/Verhofstadt axis was thrown out of their complacency by Mr Raab, and much preferred the much less forthright approach of other UK representatives.

Was this this Brexit Sec. that didn’t realise the significance of the Dover Calais crossing?

That's why he had to resign. Treason May didn't like it. It messed up the plan to turn us into an EU colony
