Brexit Party source tells me that they expect being ranked alphabetically as 'The Brexit Party' at the bottom of the ballot paper rather than 'Brexit Party' at the top will cost them 2% in the election.

I wondered if they’d deliberately used “The” to rank them just ahead of UKIP on the ballot paper.

am told they intended to register as Brexit Party but there was a registration mix up.

And yet some of their cyber activists started crying foul when Wikipedia followed its style guide & did not include "The" in article title. Sounds like they mucked up registration. This has hit others before, especially "The Labour Party" when "Socialist Labour Party" also stood

In the final result, I don't think it'll be anything but a tiny and marginal debating point. A tsunami is coming.

Oh for goodness sake, what an insult to voters intelligence once again! As if we can't look down a list on the ballot paper and pick the party we've made up our minds to vote for! We can read you know!

Just Behave! People have already made up their minds who they are going to vote for by the time they begin to fill in their ballot. They don't see a logo and randomly put their cross next to it! To suggest they do is an insult to voters.

Every Party begins with The. That should put The Brexit Party at the top. I don't think it will matter though, most people would have made up their minds by now.

No, most parties don't include "The" in their officially registered name. When some have, it's led to them appearing under "T" on list ballot papers - this especially "The Labour Party" when "Socialist Labour Party" also stood.

It's pretty silly. Would make sense to just ignore all "The"s at the start of names, given so many parties do in actual fact!

I believe so. The Electoral commission is a bent as a two bob note. Remainers, the lot of them. Another thing to sort out.

Perhaps they are registered as The Brexit Party, as their logo only says Brexit Party. Their website says The Brexit Party and also their twitter handle. Perhaps they missed a trick and should drop the "The" before the general elections, @brexitparty_uk please take note
