Staggering #LocalElection2019 night. Tories annihilated; Labour hammered. But look: people already want to vote for the @brexitparty_uk with reports of widespread defaced papers & voters turning up 20 days early with MEP polling cards. This feels historic pic.twitter.com/M8WXRBtLJ7

I think that remain got their vote out as they had the Lib/Dems to vote for whereas the leave vote had no one to vote for so stayed at home or spoiled their ballot.

Just because some aggressive types spoiled their ballot papers does not make a sound conclusion. All will have a real chance in 21 days time. We will see a more reliable guide emerge then.

Remainers celebrating their 'victory'. Anyone can win a fight when the opposition is punch drunk. Wait until the real opponent who fights back gets into the ring.

No leave parties??? That will be why UKIP lost 83 seats then? These clowns were largely obliterated where they fielded candidates. The Remainers have far more say locally for the next 5 years than a few Brexit clowns who will be out by Oct.

We will see. Peterborough - the former seat of the snarling Brexit crook Stewart Jackson (your taxes paid for his pool)? Beaten by a black Labour woman? That seat has 90% of the vote between Tory/Labour. There is ZERO chance of any Kwitter making inroads into that seat.

Saddest thing is the ruling class in the media and on TV who called Brexit voters racist have done a job on UKIP and it looks like the public believed them. We are our own worst enemies. We deserve Labour and Tory.

I have no problem with UKIP going the way of the Great Barrier Reef. It wasn't the media that forced them to go boxing each other or forced them to be racists. "People knew what they were voting for" yesterday.
