Ministers shouldn’t leak confidential security info from the NSC. But... the PM’s decision to allow Huawei to work on the 5G network is a FAR bigger risk to our national security than anything Gavin Williamson has done.

I don't know how IT works and doubt TM does either, but surely a matter of standing back and using common sense: why outsource anything critical to national security to a rising global super power that operates on a different world view? Not future proof.

I share your logic, particularly having been exposed to Chinese business and political culture in my own small way. I would prefer that we don't take any risk at that level where alternatives exist, even if more expensive. My main point however relates to the integrity of the NSC

Agree. Calamitous loss of discipline but how serious are the misgivings within NSC? It's beyond farce. (Predictive text gave me faeces, it is that too). I think UK politics now has completed it's transition into sitcom.

Respectfully why should Pakistan have better 5G than the UK?

So now we're all IT experts are we, with specific knowledge of 5G broadband networks? We can read reports, yes. But there are different reports out there, just as on climate change. I feel partially qualified to judge those with my experience, but not 5G IT assessments.
