I think Scotland deserves another referendum on independence if Brexit happens. But I’m fascinated how nationalists will run “We want to be in the EU and its vital single market” and “We want to be outside the UK and its vital single market” at the same time.

The UK doesn't have a single market, of it did all 4 constituent parts would keep their own taxes raised by the export of goods between them, this patently does not happen.

It’s a dislike of the English by some Scots, unfortunately, and I say that as a Glaswegian. I’ve never understood it.
-
Interestingly Rosemary, the only people I have met in Scotland who have a dislike for the English, are unionists My husband is English and is made very welcome in Glasgow... Except by unionists Go figure

Which union would we be an equal partner in and have a veto in? Should tell you all you need to know.

Because Scotland voted to be in the EU & has never voted to be ruled by a Tory Gov Julia ... possibly you didn’t understand the answer

In 2017 twelve more Scottish Constituencies returned Tory MP's than in 2015. The Tories ran on a Leave manifesto. So I would say your statement is not entirely accurate.

I find it strange that Scottish, Welsh and Irish Nationalists want to be free from Westminster, yet all want their laws decided by foreigners in Brussels. The IRA killed thousands in a failed attempt to be free of British rule, yet Sinn Fein want Brussels ruling Ireland instead.

No scope for a hard
#Scexit apparently. We won't have any borders at all, supposedly. And yet if Scotland rejoins EU and UK likely has diff regs/tariffs the whole NI issue becomes rather relevant and fast.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

It's pretty simple really (much like yourself Hartley-Brewer). The EU is a union and a union of equals at that. The UK is not a union no matter what way you look at it, and certainly isn't in any form a union of equals.
