I’m not a fan of Abbott but just leave her alone on this one, she’s enjoying a can of booze on a train in peace. Pick your battles

I think the point is that it is illegal to drink alcohol on public transport. Not the type of alcohol or where she bought it from.
-
Indeed. A very sensible law that has made travel in London much nicer and safer.
-
Your tweet doesn’t attack the offence though, it attacks her choice or drink. You still manage to make a fool of yourself though. As if a can of cheap cocktail mix is an elitist drink! Should she be drinking Newcastle Brown Ale?
-
Bet Julia used to love sharing a pint of mild with the proles in the student's bar at Oxford.
-
I would have her down as someone who’d knock back half a bottle of 20/20 whilst “not inhaling” a pack of 10 consulate menthols!

You think she’s only allowed to drink pale ale whilst wearing a flat cap? And since when is a canned mojito the epitome of posh?

To be fair, I had absolutely no idea you can’t drink alcohol on an overground TFL.
-
The ridiculous thing about all this is (as many have pointed out) it’s not against any law, it’s a TFL condition - I often have a ‘cocktail in a can’ on the train up to London (SWT) they are sold on the buffet trolley - who knew I was part of the elite

-
Apparently BoJo made it a bye-law in 2008. A stupid one, given that they still sell alcohol on other trains and that the very people likely causing problems in the first place probably haven't let it stop them, but sure.

Lol so people who care about the welfare of other people aren’t allowed to go to M&S !?You do know that everyone is entitled to have more than just sackcloth&porridge eh!?Or is the current climate of Dickensian poverty for many not enough for you? Everything Thatcher stole 1/

Labour will take back.... life is not just for the rich .. Hope you enjoyed your drink
@HackneyAbbott ! You deserve it. 2/2
-
I'm glad you mentioned that in that way because that's exactly how it goes. Labour gives and Tories take it away. That's always the pattern that the people miss. They think everyday is brand new. No it isn't. It's just the past repeated on a new day.
-
Oh ffs the stupidity of those who perceive themselves as more worthy ...what a bitchy and snobby comment to make Julia only snobs and filthy rich go to
@marksandspencer is that what you’re saying? -
That’s how I took it.
