It's a thread backed full of insults, written by someone who is 'sceptical of environmentalism'. This is a useful thread if you want to insult people, but why bother when Julia provides much more coherent dismissals in much fewer words.

Ben Pile has no credibility or qualifications in this domain (https://www.desmog.co.uk/ben-pile ) and is frankly unpleasant https://twitter.com/clim8resistance/status/1063895084763160584 …

What is a 'qualification in this domain'? Does it mean not being on a list compiled by a smear website funded by a convicted money-launderer? I regard that as a qualification that I have domain credentials.
-
Hi Ben. If you were a credible researcher you’d have qualifications from a reputable institution.
-
There's no such thing as a professional accreditation for the role of 'researcher', Phil. Unlike, for e.g. physicians, lawyers, dentists. Perhaps you're confused about the nature of research, writing, debate, politics... That sort of thing. Too many onions, maybe?
-
We’re talking about science. I see no journal publications on your website nor role at a scientific research organisation. Sorry but am I missing something?
-
OK. What scientific claim did I make which has offended you, onion man?
-
My point is that none of your claims are scientific or evidence based. And your tweet praying(??) for the met to be violent towards peaceful protestors is in no way ok.
-
What science would contradict my claims, Phil?

The 2nd tweet: "Extinction Rebellion, like much of the green movement, are almost exclusively drawn from the most degenerate parts of the upper & upper-middle classes." No back-up, no basis, loaded with prejudice. Like you, opinion masquerading as fact. Not journalism but polemic

Sad that this person (or bot!) has spent so much time writing a piece of rubbish that at it’s root is inaccurate. Laughable.

actually it's a bunch of baseless assertions, weird othering and conspiracist thinking. But thanks for highlighting the head-in-the-sand detatchment society is up against

Your constant jibes about the climate change protesters do you no credit. Our planet is seriously screwed if we don't act on the environment NOW. Rather than carping and mocking from the sidelines why not support the youngsters who care and have their futures to think of?
-
It's to late to stop catastrophic climate change. All you can do is move and buy a small holding with a reliable water supply
-
I don't think it's too late. But we 11.59. Julia is pulling hard to turn the clock to midnight.
